Some workplace injuries aren't visible — and they can be just as devastating as any physical injury.
When a worker is the victim of violence on the job, the psychological impact can make it impossible to return to the same work environment — even after a full physical recovery. This is not weakness. This is a recognized medical condition of PTSD.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following workplace violence can include:
◆ Inability to return to a previous work environment
◆ Heightened anxiety and hypervigilance
◆ Avoidance of situations associated with the traumatic event
◆ Significant disruption to earning capacity and quality of life
These are real, documentable, and in many cases compensable injuries under Ohio workers' compensation law.
In this video, Dana shares his experience after being assaulted, beaten, and robbed while working as a delivery driver. Cleared physically to return to work — but unable to return psychologically — Dana found an advocate in Mike Gruhin of Gruhin & Gruhin.
If you or someone you know has been injured at work and is struggling to move forward, you may have more legal options than you realize.
