If you receive Social Security Disability or Ohio Public Employee Retirement System Disability, you’re still entitled to seek Ohio Workers’ Compensation Permanent Total Disability (PTD) Compensation. Ohio PTD is reduced, under certain circumstances, if you are on SSD and you are under 65 years of age. Once you reach 65, there is no reduction from Ohio Work Comp PTD. However, you should discuss this with a Board Certified Ohio Workers’ Compensation Specialist.

SSD – there is NO reduction in SSD monthly payments if you are receiving Ohio PTD compensation.

OPERS – there is no reduction in Ohio PTD or from OPERS disability compensation.
